Hope (Poem Transcript)

When this is over, may we never again take for granted.

A handshake with a stranger, full shelves at the store, conversations with a neighbor, a crowded theater, Friday night out, the taste of communion, a routine check up, the school rush each morning, coffee with a friend, the stadium roaring, each deep breath, a boring Tuesday, life itself. When this ends, may we find that we have become more like the people we wanted to be.

We were called to be, we hoped to be. And may we stay that way. Better for each other because of the worst.

Takeaways

No doubt, life is much different than what it used to be. Times are changing, but so are we.

Our daily standup meetings and water cooler gatherings may have disappeared.

The daily morning commute surrounded by traffic, constantly looking at the clock…well, can’t complain about that one.

Limited to no physical interactions may have resulted in good outcomes or bad. Nonetheless, we continue to grow and learn from unique experiences and milestones such as these.
