Freedom Day is an annual day of service hosted by Communities Foundation of Texas. Held on September 11th, this poignant day honors the civilian and first responder lives lost in the tragic 9/11 attacks. Placing a special emphasis on bringing the DFW metroplex together to honor and serve our veterans, Freedom Day is an event that unites our community.
In observance of this year’s Freedom Day, DHD Films has partnered with HeroBox to send care packages to our deployed military members. Help us fill these boxes by donating the following non-perishable items or contributing to the cost of postage. Every donation makes a difference!
The following items are the most commonly requested by deployed troops:
Don’t have time to make it to the store? No worries. You can donate gift cards to local grocery stores or retailers such as Target and Walmart and we will do the shopping for you. Additionally, we are also accepting money for postage which can be collected at DHD Films or through the CFT website.
Make sure when you donate you specify “Freedom Day- Hero Boxes” in the Additional Information section. This way your money will directly benefit this project.
Any contribution, whether it’s a cart-full of Costco trail mix or simply the unused non-perishables in your own pantry, will make a difference for a deployed soldier. Don’t miss your chance to put smiles on the faces of our heroes!
