North Texas Giving Day took place this year on September 14th. The event, hosted by our friends at Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT), has raised over $195 million dollars since its’ introduction in 2009. This year’s event shattered the previous record by over $2 million dollars. The money was raised within 18 hours and will benefit over 2,700 nonprofits including the North Texas Food Bank and the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. In response to the devastation of Hurricane Harvey, over $370,000 dollars in relief will go directly to this cause. Split between the Mass Care Task Force and CFT’s Relief and Recovery Fund, the money raised for Harvey will immediately benefit Southeast Texans.

This day of giving is only one of the efforts spearheaded by CFT. The charity operates year-round and has granted over 1.7 billion dollars to worthy causes since it opened in 1953. They specialize in connecting philanthropists with worthy causes and organizations. Operating on a local, national and even global scale, CFT is in touch with some of the best charities across the world, ensuring the perfect fit for donors. The recent film that we produced for CFT captures the essence of this generous organization perfectly.

Another day hosted by CFT to mark on your calendar is Freedom Day. Held annually on September 11th, this day honors first responders and innocent lives lost in the terrorist attacks with a day of volunteering in the community. Hosted by CFT in unison with the Entrepreneurs for North Texas, the service activities are held on Texas Horse Park property. This land is home to two wonderful organizations, River Ranch Educational Charities and Equest. Volunteers could be found clearing debris or building a raised produce garden along sections of the Trinity River.

If you missed out this year, North Texas Giving Day will be held again on Thursday, September 20, 2018. To register your nonprofit for 2018 giving day complete this survey. Any inquiries about the videos produced by DHD Films for CFT or North Texas Giving Day can be answered here.
