A lot has been said about how this year has been unique. Hardly any of the brands and partners we work with have gone through 2020 without some change to the way they do business, and our studio is no exception. As we near the end of this eventful year, we wanted to take a look back and reflect on some of the larger changes that our studio has undergone.

The Home Office

As is the case with most people, our office is the closest thing to a second home. It’s where we spend most of our waking hours and it’s where we get to create the kind of work that wows our clients and makes us proud to be part of the DHD Films team. Thanks to the pandemic, that second home found itself relocating to our main home. Starting on March 17th, the entire DHD Films team shifted to a work-from-home setup. Although the transition took some getting used to, our friends at ProMAX worked with us to ensure our team had access to every piece of footage to keep working as if we were all still in the same building.

Virtual Events

We weren’t the only ones working from home, and with a large majority of the country’s workforce in remote working situations, most conferences, annual meetings, and large industry events had to pivot quickly. Luckily, our extensive experience in producing live events easily translated into the new Virtual Events arena. In the blink of an eye, we set up state-of-the-art systems to handle even the most complex live-streaming events. From in-studio segments, to remote guests and on-location streaming, we offer solutions at any scale. Moreover, our Virtual Events evolved to soar past bland multi-user Zoom calls, to provide true interactive experiences with the kind of production value and engagement that people are used to experiencing in person.

Contactless Filming

As the pandemic and the ensuing stay-at-home orders continued to affect our clients, it became clear that we needed to offer a solution that would allow us to film individuals in the safety and comfort of their own homes. Our production team pulled from their vast knowledge of camera equipment and supporting technology to create our Contactless Filming Solutions. With our tiered approach, clients are able to select the specific solution that suits their subject’ level of technical expertise and unique health and safety concerns. Kits can be delivered locally, or mailed to any location across the country (or globe).

In-Person Production

Of course, there are still projects that require in-person production. Luckily, one of the first things DHD Films developed was a set of health and safety protocols for filming in person. Whether on-location or in our studio, all of our in-person productions comply with an easy yet effective set of guidelines that include personal protective equipment (PPE), limited number of cast and crew, and consistent cleaning and sanitizing of gear. With these precautions in place, we’ve been able to safely and effectively deliver our video production services to clients who still require in-person filming for their projects.

Although many things have changed over the pat year, DHD Films continues its commitment to provide outstanding creative solutions that produce real business outcomes. We’ve come a long way this year and we’re confident that, no matter what the new year holds, we’ll be ready to adapt so that we can continue to give our clients the best service possible in the safest and most convenient way.
